Andrew's Red Brindle Boxer portraits

It’s our four legged friends again!

Andrew asked me to photograph his Red brindle Boxer dog for him, and visited me at home last week where we took a series of photos – both ‘studio’ and natural. We got some great shots of a real character. Here are just a few for you to take a look at…

Grace, Sheba and family…

Ok ok… I know in my very last post I mumbled something about being too busy to do pet portraits, right? Hm… well it seems I jumped the gun (again) because I have another one for you right now!

Lee called me up a few months ago and asked me if I could take some pictures of Mum’s Miniature Schnauzer, Sheba – in Peterborough! Now, ordinarily I wouldn’t venture so far out from home… but I guess Lee caught me in a weak moment, and was very complimentary about my photography (I’m a sucker for sweet-talking) – so that’s how I found myself at Mum Grace’s place last week.

Sheba turned out to be a lovely dog, and quite the poser…

After a quick pause to mow the lawn (hey, she’s miniature Schnauzer after all and we wanted to see her properly!) I started snapping.

Want to see some pictures? Here you go then;

Grace and Sheba together…

…and a few family shots thrown in for good measure…

Of course, not everybody wants to be photographed all the time;)

Lovely family, lovely dog, horrible drive:)

Thanks for all your hospitality guys, I enjoyed taking your photos for you.

Shelley's pet portraits

Ok, hands up all those that thought the pet photography was going to sit on the back burner whilst ‘wedding season’ is in full flow? Many of you? Well I have my hand up! Yes, I did actually plan to scale down the pet portraits just for a little while, since the summer months are very busy with weddings most weekends…

…but you know how things tend to slip through, right?:)

Shelley from Ashford, Kent contacted me some time ago to arrange for a series of photos: 1 dog, 3 cats, 2 humans was how she described it – and that’s just what it was. Shelley’s cats turned out to be somewhat camera-shy… but a good dose of patience, some laying on my belly, and a trip to the cupboard to photograph one particularly shy subject later, and we had a number of shots in the bag.

Here are just a few of them for you…

Good stuff… full galleries here: Shelley’s pet portraits

Enjoy the photos!

The cutest puppy portraits: Angela's Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Now I don’t usually show too many pet pictures in one go from a single shoot – but I’ve just got to show you a few of these from one late afternoon last week…

Angela contacted me because she wanted some really special portraits taken of her new puppy Delancey – a 6 week old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. We arranged the shoot quite quickly, knowing how fast puppies grow. Angela really wanted to capture Delancey in his true “puppy” state.

So on to the shoot… Angela arrived by train with Delancey in his own little travel bag – and when she let him out I could see he was a gorgeous little thing! Excitable, inquisitive, fast and constantly moving but very very cute.

I guess you wanna see some cute puppy pictures then, right? Ok, get your “Oohs” and “Aaah’s” ready ‘cos here they come.

1. Tell me that’s not cute..

2. Aaah..

3. Isn’t he gorgeous?

4. Now for some fun with a wide angle lens!

5. This was great fun. With a 12mm lens fitted to the camera, this was taken just a couple of inches from puppy.

6. And finally one to make you laugh. Angela told me she loved those shots where the head looks really big and the body small – almost a cartoon caricature of Delancey… Could I do one? Well let’s see…!

Ok, that’s all for now. This was a fun shoot to do. Puppy was the cutest thing – and even though at just 6 weeks old he’s had no training yet, he turned out great to work with too (once we’d employed a few tricks to keep his busy little self contained)! Angela loved the session and I just know she’s going to be excited when she sees her pictures, so I’m looking forward to that.

Hope you enjoyed the photos. Please do leave your comments, I love to hear them. Until next time then..:)

And if you want your own set of professional pet photographs taken you can find full details on how to book your photo session by visiting the pet photography section of my main website.

All the best,

Rob.

Dog portraits again!

After a plethora of pet portraits over the past few months the last couple of weeks seemed to have mostly gone back to human subjects again… but those dog lovers are still out there, and I’m a sucker for a pair of big puppy-dog eyes. The animals are often cute too!

So… on to today’s story: Val contacted me and asked me to photograph Woody for her. Woody is a lovely 13 year old dog with a great temperament and was so relaxed during our photo session that I thought he was going to drop off to sleep completely! A bit of bribery from the biscuit barrel seemed to get his attention though.

Here’s a few shots for you…

Lovely isn’t he?

Comments welcome, and thanks for looking:)
